VE1WRC Repeater News These are the latest pictures from the VE1WRC Amherst Repeater site at Salem. The move into the new building is completed. Myself ( VE1ZX ) Jim ( VE1AFH ) and Rick ( VE9RWS ) started the move on March 31/2010. The repeater was moved into the new rack ( 302 ) at that date and was up and running when we left the site. Somehow it stopped transmitting later that day. On April 05/2010 Myself ( VE1ZX ) and Lorne ( VE1BXK ) re-visited the site and chased Murphy out of the site hi hi and re-route the new feed lines into the cable trays and tie-rap them in place. As you can see it is quite an improvement over the old building. The new tower was put in last year. ( Picture of the tower name plate is in these group of pictures ) also you will see the new power plant, backup power and the name plate of the new building. The new repeater is a Motorola MSR-2000/100W with a preamp installed. So far we have had good reports on it's coverage area. Please give it a try and let us know how it is working in your area.
